NBC does not have one nationwide channel number. Your channel is the local NBC affiliate assigned to your television market, and its number can differ across DIRECTV, cable and over-the-air reception. The fastest reliable answer is to enter your ZIP code in your provider's current channel lookup.

How to find NBC on DIRECTV

  1. Open DIRECTV's current channel lineup or guide.
  2. Enter the service-address ZIP code and county when prompted.
  3. Search for NBC or the call sign of your local affiliate.

DIRECTV confirms that local NBC numbers vary by market. Local stations are included only where available, and temporary carriage disputes can affect access. If the guide and the channel lookup disagree, the ZIP-based lineup is the better source.

NBC is different from NBCUniversal cable channels

Your local NBC station carries network programming and local news. It is separate from MSNBC on DIRECTV channel 356, CNBC on channel 355, CNBC World on channel 357 and USA Network on channel 242. Those national cable channels keep the same DIRECTV number in most markets; the NBC broadcast affiliate does not.

Other ways to receive your local NBC station

  • Antenna: NBC affiliates broadcast free over the air where a signal reaches your address. The virtual channel shown by the TV may differ from its physical broadcast frequency.
